Wallwisher and it's Educational Purposes - Marina and Shawn

There are many applications on the internet that can be used for educational purposes.  One of these applications is Wallwisher. It can be accessed through padlet.com and the application starts with a blank wall and anyone is allowed to access the wall and post anything.  An example situation for an educational purpose would be critical thinking questions.A teacher can make a wall and post a question. The students can then get on a web-enabled device, enter a certain link. and answer the question as a class. Everyone who was entered into that class by the teacher can view their classmates' answers, and can help improve each others answers. This can be beneficial for people who are shy and are uncomfortable of answering questions out loud in front of the class.

RSS Assignment Questions

  • Why did you select the sites you subscribed to?
  • Was it easy to find feeds and to subscribe to them?
  • Which sites were your favorites?
  • What else can you use RSS feeds for?
  • How likely are you to continue to use RSS feeds in the future?

  • I have a deep interest in technology, which is why I chose the NYT as one of my websites.  I also have a large interest in video games, which is the reason why I subscribed to the Game Informer RSS feed.  Lastly, I have an interest in U.S. breaking news so subscribing to the CIA website can give me important news fast.  The rest have similar reasons.
  • It wasn't a one step process.  The RSS links are usually hidden in the website, and it can be difficult to find.  Once found, however, you place the RSS link onto your RSS reader and all your news is instantly fed to you.
  • My favorite site is the Game Informer site.  I love games, and any gaming news is an excite to me.
  • You can use RSS feeds for an array of things, mostly pertaining to world or local news.
  • I may continue to use RSS feeds if I can't find anything good on the internet.  I could go to my reader and probably find something I couldn't find on my own.

    App That Can Hijack Planes

    http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/11/tech/mobile/phone-hijack-plane/index.html?c=tech

A hacker takes advantage of a phone's communication interface to control a plane's controls. Due to the fact that today's planes have a lack of security, it's easy to use this hack on a live airplane. While it hasn't been used on a plane, simulations have showed that it's possible for this app to work. It's recommended that planes beef up their security before another person with malicious purposes get's their hands on them.

Bitcoin and Recently Recent News About The Concept

Bitcoin is a concept created by an anonymous hacker about four years ago.  It is a purely digital currency.  The thing that's so wonderful about it is that there is no government authority over the currency, leaving all the responsibility up to the traders.  Like all currencies, Bitcoin must be backed up by something, and it is.  Coins are created through "mining".  It's like mining for gold, instead you are mining for "blocks".  A block is created when a certain mathematical question is solved.  The payout for solving a block is automatically adjusted, so that in the first four years, 10,500,000 Bitcoins are created.  This amount is halved every four years, so that the total Bitcoins in existence won't exceed 21,000,000.

The recently recent news about the Bitcoins is that 1 Bitcoin now translates to about 40 USD, after a Bitcoin market boost.  Many find this boost outrageous, but that's the way it is. The Bitcoin currency is flourishing, and personally, I believe it's the way of the future.

    Time Travel

    Time Travel.

If I were to time travel to any time and be able to come back, I would either go to the past or the future.  Any time before July 1998 is completely off limits.  I was born on April 6 1998, you can probably understand why I can't go before that time.  Any change can mess everything up, and I wouldn't be born.  If I can go to the past, I would travel back to when I started failing in school.  I'd give myself a helping hand so I can pass with flying colors.  That'd be pretty cool.  If I were to travel to the future, I'd travel about 20 years, experience things, bring back cool future stuff.  When I go back to the past, I tell the important people, like CEOs of mass corporations and even the president to change certain things if things aren't perfect in 20 years.

    If I Were a Teacher

If I were a teacher, the class that I would teach would be teaching would incorporate computers, obviously.  I would most likely have something like a computer literacy class.  With today's society, everything revolves around technology.  I would like the newer generation of people to be able to control devices with extensive knowledge of the subject.  My class would be hands on.  I feel that everything must be hands-on for a student to learn it.  Lecturing is boring. I know that I would never learn things if I were being lectured.  It hurts me that some of my fellow peers don't grasp computers, and that they need outside help every time they have a problem.  The final test would be a computer literacy test.

The Razer Edge Pro Gaming System

    Article

The idea of PC portable gaming was an idea with too many hoops to jump through.  Laptops are considered portable gaming PCs, however, the idea of something as large as a tablet was unheard of.  Razer changed this wit the Razer Edge, (previously known as Project Fiona).  The highest model sports an Intel Core i7 Dual Core CPU with a GT 640m.  This tablet also has 8GB of RAM.  This tablet is surely better than most home desktop computers.  The Razer Edge can play full fledged PC games without optimization.  While 7 inches can be considered bulky for a portable device, the Razer Edge is the most portable PC gaming device out there.

    Weekend

I really didn't do much over the weekend, so I'll break it down into excruciating detail.  First I woke up, then sat on my bed, I surveyed my room, making sure everything was normal.  Then, I proceeded to get my glasses off my windowsill.  I took them, and placed it over my ears.  I stood in my bed for approximately five minutes while I thought about my life.  I arose from my bed, and I took a stretch.  I don't really know why people have the urge to stretch; why do people have a urge to stretch while being stationary for a while?  I then proceeded to the bathroom.  I then got out of the bathroom.  I descended down the stairs to greet my biological mother.  I proceeded to the kitchen to grab Honey Nut Cheerios from the top cabinet.  I placed that on my counter.  I got milk; I placed it on my counter.  I got a bowl; I placed it on my counter.  I took my box of Honey Nut Cheerios and filled my ceramic bowl, fairly close to the top.  I then took my milk and poured it in my cereal until the milk covered most of the cereal.  I proceeded to sit down and chew on my cereal. I thought about life.  Being half asleep, I was still living in my own world.  Why are humans here?  What is our purpose?  What is my purpose?  Oh well.  I was done with my cereal.

Okay, in the end, I went sledding by that elementary school down the road.  ARE YOU HAPPY MR. PORFIDO?!

    Here be the sledding people.

My First Ever Blogger Post in Forever

I am Shawn Gonzalez of Wood-Ridge High School.  I don't really like this school, but what am I going to do?  I just have to make the best out of it.  I enjoy computers.  Computers are my life.  There's computers and systems all around us and we don't tend to notice these fascinating advancements in technology.  I like gaming and spend a considerable amount of time doing just that.  One summer, I sometimes played games on my computer for 15 hours.  I dislike doing things that is not going to really help me in life, like many things in school.  I'm not going to need to know the sum of the interior angles of a dodecagon for my career.  I also dislike liars, but I'm a liar myself, so I'm a hypocrite.  That's about it.
